Hello! My name is Swan (they/them)
I'm a software developer, artist, and amateur entomologist based in Queens, New York.
I hold a bachelor's degree in computer science and environments design from Carnegie Mellon University.
I write software for a living
I've worked closely with other developers, engineers, designers, and producers on a range of interactive products, web experiences, and installations for an all-star cast of clients. Here are some highlights:
- An AI-powered mobile webapp for Google that generates custom magazine covers[0x08]↝
- Three custom pinball machines for Google's Marketing Live event[0x09]↝
- A generative AI-powered personalized postcard maker for Google's Cloud Next event[0x0A]↝
- A set of kiosks installed around the world that showcase TikTok's moderation process[0x0B]↝
- A spectrum of other products and experiences for many Fortune Global 500 companies in industries ranging from tech to retail to media[0x0C]↝
And I make tech-centered art, too
Through my personal practice, I've explored a plethora of distinct subjects and media. These are some of my best pieces:
- A creative toy through which players can use physical toys to spawn generative digital ecosystems[0x01]↝
- A line of networked, glowing fashion pieces inspired by deep-sea organisms[0x02]↝
- A participatory art event using fax machines and AI-generated drawing prompts[0x03]↝
- A webapp that allows users to convert uploaded images to custom tartan plaids[0x04]↝
- A myriad of bespoke mechanical puzzles[0x05]↝
- A series of rigid wearable sculptures exploring slatted geometry and 3D-scanning[0x06]↝
- A machine that licks lollipops down to the stick[0x07]↝
I'm always learning from the work others are creating
At the moment, I'm reading The Story of Writing by Andrew Robinson,
I'm listening to Les Chants de l'Aurore by Alcest,
and I'm really inspired by Pleiades by James Turrell
Let's get in touch!
